CHARLIE THE TRAMP

A Brief Intro to Book:

I would like to start out by telling you that this is the perfect book for the young adult.  I actually had given this book to my daughter which is 12 years old.  I really loved how the story was written and the flow of the words really went together.  My daughter, Stephanie really loved the story.  She liked how they kept the story going without having any dull or boring parts.

Description of Book:

Charlie the Beaver wants to be a tramp when he grows up. “Tramps don’t have to learn how to chop down trees and how to roll logs and how to build dams. Tramps just tramp around and have a good time. Tramps carry sticks with little bundles tied to them. They sleep in a field when the weather is nice, and when it rains they sleep in a barn.” Charlie sets off with his bundle. But when he hears water trickling, he can’t get to sleep. Will he be able to resist the urge to make it stop? As Grandfather Beaver says, “You never know when a tramp will turn out to be a beaver.” Winner of the Boys Club of America Junior Book Award, 1968.

My Opinion of the Book:

This really is a charming little story with a great message about work ethic, family and independence. But, as a fifty-year-old book,  Charlie The Tramp is a terrific story about a beaver (Charlie) who wants to pursue his boyhood dream of becoming a tramp. He says that tramps just tramp around all day, enjoy the good life, and sleep in fields with daisies (or in a barn if it rains). His parents are haltingly indulgent of his dream, while his grandfather harrumphs around with "That's what it's like these days... little beavers want to be tramps..." comments. He eventually "comes of age" one night as a trickling stream keeps him awake and he spends the night building a dam. The next day as his parents are looking for him they find the dam/pond. They wonder who built it and comment that it looks like the sort of pond that Charlie's father would make... only he is certain that he didn't make it. Charlie wakes up and says that he made it and is heartily congratulated for a fine job of building a dam. Even grandfather admits "That's the way things are these days... more and more tramps become beavers." There is some gender stereotyping (mother races home to make flapjacks for all) but other than that, it is a quality children's book. There is a strong family message and asserts that children should be allowed to chase their dreams. For if they were given the proper guidance in their childhood, they will make good choices and do the proper thing.

This easy-going life continues on for a few days. Then, one day, Charlie hears a sound and investigates. He finds trickling water in a nearby stream.

My Opinion Of The Game:

My family has a tradition of having a family game night once a week for years now.  We are always on the lookout for new games to try out and play on these nights.  I received this opportunity to give this game a try and let me tell you my family had an awesome time playing this game.

There are different types of cards as well: Name the Category, Lightning Round, and List cards. This game will get your kids laughing and having fun all while learning. Something I love to see. The cards are durable and the game is compact so it is easy to bring as a travel game as well.

I would like to start out by saying that this radio control car is a lot better than what I thought it would be.  The style, the color and how it drives it is pretty cool.  It is very easy for a child to handle, but it also will look great on that shelf of collectible cars.  I would say that this car would be great for pretty much any age boys.

My Opinion:

This car  is AWESOME to buy! The car does go forward, backward and the wheels turn as they should. It also goes in reverse. My boys thought that the working lights were 'amazing!' The car requires a total of 5 double AA batteries (two for the controller and three for the actual car). It says that the car is for ages six and older  This car may not be the top of the line in remote control cars, but it can hang with the big boys. It drives on our tile flooring, concrete and even our carpet. All and all, I think that this is a great remote control car for the price. The details on it are good, the lights flashing and coming on are amazing, and the car's ability to drive on any terrain is a nice touch. I think it's a good buy for kids of all ages!

This is a great game for your family.  It is not just fun it is educational too.  You will be having fun with your children and teaching them at the same time.  

The Blurt Board Game is a great game to use in Speech Therapy. I sometimes play the complete game but often just use the playing cards for some quick fire vocabulary practice.  In this game, players are rewarded for quick vocabulary recall. One player reads out a word definition and other players must shout out the word that is being described.  The game contains a game board, a die, six game tokens and 300 cards with over 1000 clues. It is the cleverly thought out clues targeting various skill levels that make it fun for different level players to play together. Included in the game is also a junior version, which is modified to suit kids ages seven to nine.  Older or more skilled children can also take advantage of the advanced play options the game offers, -much like levels in a video game when you elevate the challenge you increase the fun.  In this game, players take turns drawing cards. Rolling the die determines what clues should be read. If you roll a one or a two, read the first clue. If you roll a three or a four, you’ll need to read the second clue and so on. Whoever is the first to call out the correct answer advances on the game board. The first player who goes the distance on the game board and back to the starting point wins!

As I started reading the first chapter I knew this book would draw me in.  I know that everyone could better their marriage, even if you have a great one.  My marriage personally could use some work, but my husband thinks it's good as it is.  This book starts telling you about the different points and areas to start with.  In which I liked that part and as I read through the chapeters I found some other areas that could use some strenthing in our marriage.

My Opinion of book:

My opinion:

This book is a board book and awesome for little hands to clutch while you read alongside them. In the event that you have an older child, they may be able to read the words to you. It's an extraordinary book to peruse before sleep time or truly at whatever time.

The pages are beautiful, alluring and truly get the kid's consideration. It instructs about God's affection and how he accommodates us. The words are huge and the sight words help youthful children to take after along effortlessly. The pages of the book are strong and pleasant because of it being a board book. You don't need to stress over the book getting wrinkles in pages.

I would exceedingly suggest this book on the off chance that you are searching for a blessing thought. I cherish giving books as they continue giving. My children began to get books before they were conceived for their own library's and now love to peruse.
