DEB'S FIRST-EVER HALLOWEEN PAGE FOR 2015!

If you are anything like me then you LOVE Halloween.  I have always loved it since I was a kid.  The older I get I just love it even more.  When my children were little I loved to play Halloween pranks on them, but some of them loved it more than others.  I just loved scaring them.  I know you might be saying it was mean, but it was all in good fun.

So I decided to make this Halloween post to let you all know what the true meaning of Halloween is.  Yes it is being scared and have the hairs on your arms stand up.  I also will share some great deals and reviews.  I hope you will enjoy!

As we know the best part f Halloween is the candy.  Right?  I personally love Brach's Candy Corn.  I have been eating these since I was a child.  I passed down the tradition my children.  I always had a big bowl of these in the middle of my coffee table.

BLOODY MARY!!

Urban Legend: Chanting "Bloody Mary!" thirteen times in front of a candlelit mirror in an otherwise dark room will summon her vengeful spirit.

The Story: Go into a room with a mirror and turn all the lights off. Bathrooms seem to be perfect for this since they almost always have a mirror and are usually dark at night with the lights off and the door closed. Light a candle, look into the mirror, start chanting "Bloody Mary" . You have to do this  13 times, of course. You should see Bloody Mary behind your left shoulder after the thirteenth time.

Beware, she has been reported to 1.) Kill the person calling her, 2.) Scratch their eyes out, 3.) Drive the person mad or 4.) pull the person into the mirror with her. This is an old legend, it has been around for ages. A folklorist,  Janet Langlois, published an essay on the legend back in 1978. At that time, the legend was wide spread across the USA and a popular slumber party ritual done by girls as well as boys.  No one knows the true origins of the Bloody Mary tale, she's been known to be anything from a witch that was killed for practicing witchcraft to a modern day woman killed in a car crash, depending on what part of the country you live in. It was made popular again in the film Urban Legends in 1999.

Texas Halloween Investigation

There was a murder in Texas at Halloween, and the FBI were called in to investigate. Hitchcock, one of the officers, saw something written in blood on the wall. It looked like the number '7734', but he was not sure; anyway, he took lots of pictures.

When Hitchcock got back to the lab he developed the film of the crime scene, but he still could not make any progress with the number. In the hope of inspiration, he took the sheaf of photographs home and spread them on the dining room table. Just at that moment his 7 year old daughter Emma came in through the patio door opposite, and looked down at the photographs.

'Why have you photographed hell?', she asked, then Hitchcock saw that when held upside down, 7734 spelt: 'hELL'.

Album Review: Andrea Bocelli’s “Cinema”

A Bit Of Information:

Music and movies go hand in hand. Now, you’ve got a chance to hear and review a new album of songs from classic movies performed by the one-and-only, Andrea Bocelli.  

You may know Andrea Bocelli as the big tenor voice--best-known for his performance with Sarah Brightman on the song “'Time to Say Goodbye”, the classical pop duet which broke sales records and topped charts across Europe--and helped make him the biggest selling living classical music artist. His albums have sold over 80 million copies! Operas, arias and duets with other big stars (including Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez) have all propelled him further to stardom.  (Fun fact: Andrea recently sang for Pope Francis on his trip to the U.S. last week.)

On October 23, Verve Records will release Andrea Bocelli’s “Cinema” - a collection of interpretations of songs from classic movies like West Side Story, The Godfather and Gladiator.

My Truthful Outcome on Andrea Bocelli:

I am not going to sit here and tell you I am a expert on music or even playing some instruments.  Well the only instrument I ever played and had some lessons is the organ.  My parents had hopes for me but it just wasn't for me.  I took the lessons for a year, but that was it.  I am just one of those people that love to listen to music.  I love to listen to all different kind of music and broaden my families horizon.

Andrea Bocelli's incredible and powerful tenor resonates deeply on his new album.  The combination of his talent and his fresh set of his familiar film music and the emotional attachment that many of us have to some of his famous pieces in his album.

I have to say that this album is very good.  I am not a big opera fan or just musicals but I do have to say I really loved this music.  I found it very relaxing and soothing.  I have to say my family thought it was good also.   That must tell you something about this album!

I have to say that Music for film is such a dramatic and so emotional feeling that it tells the story by itself.  I have to say there were a couple of familiar songs on this album.  The first song was "Maria" and that was from West Side Story.  The second song was "The Music Of The Night" and that was from Phantom of the Opera.  The other songs on this album were just as good and I have listened to this several times since I received it and even before I started this post.

Review:

What was Ryan Hill thinking when he wrote Barking Madness? Whatever it was, he put pen to paper and has created one of the most intriguing and fascinating young adult dark tales. I’ll just say it right now, I loved the plot, the scenes, the action, the gore and I really, really had a hard time finding anything redeeming about one of the main characters, period. For me, Rose and her personality make for a good explanation as to why some animals eat their young. That only proves that it’s the quality of the writing and not the awesomeness of the characters that make a good read!

Rose and her family have moved to a new town and her biggest concern is how to wrap everyone around her beautiful fingers with the least amount of effort. She has been suffering from nightmares that are gruesome and dark, horrifying, really, who could know she would live one of those nightmares after getting trashed at a big party in this one horse town? How could she know that one boy’s act of bravery would cost him his life and that another boy, far less popular and not even on her guy radar would be the knight in shining armor that saves her from death at the jaws of a huge, black wolf?

Has she been bitten by a werewolf? Will she go all furry and nasty?
Until then, its school business as usual and no real regard for Michael, the brilliant and well-meaning guy who saved her. Yep, a new slant on werewolves, for sure. Has Rose become her own worst nightmare?  Now wouldn't you like to know how this all turned out?  Come and read the book and you will b surprised at how it all ends.

True Crime: Box Set Review

I have to say that each of these books in this box set is totally awesome.  I love True Crime stories and if you do then this is the set you have to get and read.

Hard to believe that three cases can be covered from start to finish in such few pages. These are not merely reports of crimes but reports of mysteries. The books are well written and hold the readers interest. There is not a wasted word in any of the books. They are pages turners. I knew after reading the first one that I liked the writer's of writing.  It is hard to digest that each story is actually REAL.  

This would be the greatest gift you could give a True Crime reader.  They will tank you in the end.

I've always loved the crime, conspiracy theories and ghosts topics of the world. It is my passion to study the fascinating stories of these happenings and how they transpired, I love to delve into mysteries and dissect what really happened.
